Melissa Mudd is an artist, teacher, and entrepreneur who echoes Emerson's assertion that "every artist was first an amateur." She is the creator and owner of makeme studio in St. Petersburg, Florida. Her background includes teaching in the pre-k through 12, university, and adult/community education settings. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Art Education, a Bachelor of Fine Arts, a minor in Art History, a Masters degree in Education and over 80 hours in post graduate Art Education.
Her artwork crosses multiple styles and media - including painting, drawing, fibers, and digital media - and is included in both private and corporate collections. "I have a strongly democratic view of the arts and genuinely believe that art should not be limited to works in prestigious galleries – but should be a part of making our every day extra ordinary. Helping people connect to their own artistry and expression – whether they consider themselves “talented” or not – is my personal mission. What better gift could you bestow then helping someone [re]discover their own “visual voice”?" |
